Established in 1991, Southern New Mexico IEC (SNM IEC) is a non-profit association of merit shop electrical contractors committed to fostering a vibrant and skilled workforce, showcasing the value of electrical contracting, and advocating for the industry.
Our Mission
We empower and support our members, the backbone of the electrical and systems contracting industry, through:
- Education & Training: Providing opportunities for apprenticeships, training programs, and scholarships to develop a skilled workforce.
- Networking & Collaboration: Fostering a network of professionals through local and national chapters, promoting job referrals and collaboration.
- Advocacy & Support: Advocating for business interests, ensuring access to skilled workers, and promoting the value of electrical expertise.
Who We Are
SNM IEC is a chapter of the national Independent Electrical Contractors (IEC), representing over 4,000 member companies across the country. Locally, we have a dedicated group of passionate and experienced electrical contractors, committed to strengthening the industry in our community.

- Apprenticeship Program: Train and certify aspiring electricians through a comprehensive program recognized by the Department of Labor.
