Our History

Nickle Electrical Companies has a rich history rooted in a dedication to quality craftsmanship and customer satisfaction. Founded in 1986 as Paul A. Nickle, Inc., the company initially focused on small commercial and service work in Delaware. Under the leadership of Steve and Debbie Dignan, who acquired the company in 1991, Nickle's scope expanded significantly over the next three decades. Driven by their vision for growth, Nickle evolved into a multi-million dollar enterprise serving clients throughout Delaware, southeast Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and the Eastern Shore of Maryland and Virginia.

In 2008, the company name was changed to Nickle Electrical Companies to more accurately reflect its comprehensive range of services and expanded reach. Despite the evolving market landscape and advancements in technology, Nickle Electrical Companies has remained steadfast in its core values of innovation, safety, and building long-lasting relationships with both clients and employees.

Fabrication and Virtual Design Construction (VDC)

At Nickle Electrical Companies, we leverage the latest technology to optimize our service delivery. Our state-of-the-art pre-fabrication shop plays a crucial role in ensuring seamless and accurate installations. This facility, spanning approximately 30,000 square feet in our Newark, DE location, allows us to build electrical components off-site in a controlled environment.

The benefits of this approach are numerous: increased safety, faster installation times, greater organization on job sites, reduced errors, enhanced consistency and accuracy, and ultimately, significant financial savings and a compressed project timeline. Our skilled team of shop employees, office staff, and our experienced Pre-Fab & VDC Design Manager collaborate closely with various departments, including Estimating and Project Management, to meticulously plan and design each project for optimal utilization of VDC coordination and pre-fabrication techniques.

Our VDC team utilizes advanced computer software to create immersive 3D models of projects. This virtual representation allows our design team to visualize the project in its entirety, ensuring functionality and identifying potential problems before construction commences. By catching issues early in the design phase, Nickle Electrical Companies minimizes costly adjustments and ensures a smooth and efficient construction process.
