Our History

Coates Electrical & Instrumentation was incorporated in 1994 by Scott A. Coates, who had been constructing and maintaining an industrial plant for over twenty years. Scott carefully planned for what he saw as a unique opportunity to provide qualified and highly skilled electrical technicians that could provide services for power, control and instrumentation. He began learning business law and accounting principles and training his first apprentices, Jason Coates and Shawn Lueders, who later became founding members of the corporation.

Employee and Customer Reviews

The reviews for Coates Electric are predominantly positive, with employees and customers praising the company's work ethic, quality of service, and commitment to the community. Jesus Ballester, an employee, describes the company as "really good" and comfortable to work with. Jamie Renda, a customer, had an "incredible" experience with the company and appreciated Jason Coates' involvement in the community. Dan Erickson, another customer, praised the company's hard work, dedication to quality, and straightforward approach.

Safety Concerns

However, one reviewer, Michael Jenkins, expresses a negative experience with the company's commitment to safety. Jenkins claims that a Coates Electric truck failed to maintain a safe following distance while driving in the HOV lane, and instead, used the lane to get a free ride. Jenkins questions the company's values, stating that if they are willing to break laws to get a free ride, they may also compromise on safety in customers' homes.

Philanthropy

Another reviewer, Brandi Hanson, provides a neutral review, stating that she knows little about the company except that there must be "some great people working there." Hanson's review is unrelated to the company's services, as she is simply grateful for the kindness of a stranger who paid for everyone in line at McDonald's.
